Melbourne International Motor Show

// March 16th, 2009 // Blog

The Energy Breakthrough Team (DCEBT) was invited to have a display as part of the Low Emission Vehicles (LEV) Group stand at the recent Melbourne International Motor Show (Feb 27-March 9) which was attended by over 250,000 people.

The Purdie family (Bruce, Donna, Clancy, Rory and Morgan), the Beardalls (Rob, Denise, Matt and Rachel), the Deckers (Neil, Ard, Ryan and Brad) as well as Lacey Pietch, Daniel Ross, Ben Curtis, Chloe Ridge-Burns, Melanie Purcell, Jessica Harvey, Bryan White, Leigh Taylor, Daniel Montgomery, Lachlan Bott, Cameron Sherritt, Nicholas Hodges and Aaron Rivett were good enough to donate their time on weekends and Labour Day to staff the stand.

They did a magnificent job on a big stage, talking with many, many people, including industry experts, on a wide variety of technical, environmental, social, moral and educational issues.

Many patrons of the show passed the comment that our vehicles and our students were the most interesting part of the show. The other exhibitors in the LEV Stand also commented on how glad they were that we were there, as our student’s were the ones who brought people into the stand. DCEBT was very grateful to be able to contribute to the LEV cause and is very pleased that such a stand has become part of a mainstream International Motor Show.

Sadly the students have found out that one of the major car manufacturers at the show spent over $80,000 on pretty girls in frilly dresses to just stand next to their cars. The students are now forming a union seeking better wages.

More information about the LEV group can be found at Green Wheels to assist you in making an informed choice when purchasing your next vehicle and details of DCEBT programs can be here.
