Advanced Driving Lessons

Written by admin on . Posted in News

Happy Australia Day! This weekend the members of last year’s King Julien XIII team travel to Sandown Racecourse for some advanced driving lessons.  This is thanks to Greenwheels who provide an award for the team with the best knowledge and practice in terms of sustainability and Murcott’s Driving School who provide the classes.  Undoubtedly, our team will come away from the weekend, safer and more ecofriendly drivers.

Thanks again

We are very grateful for the enormous support we have received from members of the Ballarat Community, offering help and tools to help us get back on our feet.  Even our friend Arnie from Holden (who sponsor the Hybrid Track at Maryborough) has organised some Holden Memorabilia for us to auction at our upcoming fundraising nights (stay tuned for more details).  We are inspired by the generousity of so many people, from so many places… we do however wish that the kids who stole our stuff realised that in this year of Khmer Rode RAGE, they were literally taking food from starving children….oh well, we will just have to work harder to make up for it !

Links between Extreme poverty and Climate Change

When we began our Rode RAGE program several years ago, we did so purely as a “Ride Against Greenhouse Emissions” to encourage “normal” people to do what they could to reduce their greenhouse emissions.

Then we thought that Climate Change was a bit too distant of a concept to be focusing upon whilst there were so many people dying of starvation right now so we decided to try to do something about both issues, not really thinking that the two were linked.

Happy New Year?

Well the year is off to a disappointing start.  Our workshop was broken into twice over the Christmas period.  The first time all our race and training trikes were stolen and the second time, a week later, all our tools.  Thanks to some excellent media coverage and a concerted effort from the entire Ballarat Community, the trikes were quickly recovered but sadly in a damaged and “stripped” condition.
