A busy Month

// May 4th, 2009 // Blog

It’s been a very busy month in Rode RAGE land. We have pulled the monocoque carbon fibre/Kevlar tub out of the mould and are very happy with the result. We have vacuum infused a new carbon fibre rear spreader, saving about 4kg on last year’s structure whilst also increasing the rigidity and strength of the vehicle. A new carbon fibre seat has also saved nearly a kilogram from last year’s seat.

We have had very interesting discussions with Jess and Mounir at Better Place and are excited by their work and the possibilities of working with them in the future.

We have also been in great discussions with Steve from Origin Solar, Sean from Marubeni and Nick and Simon from BREAZE in preparation of our application to the National and Victorian Solar funding to hopefully make Damascus a much more energy efficient place to learn and build energy efficient vehicles. We are very pleased to have these guys as friends and recommend you check out their web sites for information on their projects.

The riders have begun the ever popular ergo regime in their never ending quest for the ultimate levels of “tankiness” and its great to see the workshop with students from Year 7 -12 working along side Grade 4 kids, old Collegians, parents and other volunteers.

More soon,

Greenhouse Guerrilla
