24 days to go

We have been on the road the past few weekends, tinkering with the gearing…on Tuesday night Clancy Purdie was riding at 110kph (which is the speed limit on the Western Freeway) in only 12th of 14 gears and held speeds of over 100kph for many kilometres…we think we’ve got the gearing right now.

The team also participated in the local day of action for www.350.org organised by BREAZE at Lake Wendouree gardens and there was much interest in our vehicle and our students again spoke to many people about the project and all the related issues.

We are now training in 37 degree temperature to prepare for Darwin and over the next couple of weeks the University of Ballarat heat chamber will also allow us to train in that heat at 90% humidity.

The excitement/tension is mounting as the big day draws nearer…all our students have “24” written on their hands today as they count down how many days to go till we leave.

Thanks again for all your great support in making this amazing adventure possible.

I am blown away that you can achieve such fantastic road speeds, and maintain it over long distances. One day we may all be riding/driving around in vehicles like the one you have created. I can’t wait to get mine, where do I sign up?
Good luck in the challenge, and congratulations on what you have achieved so far.
